Members of Darien High School’s Global Connect Club held a fundraiser to collect new and quality used clothing for Stamford-based Clothes to Kids of Fairfield County (CTKF). In total, DHS Global Connect made a donation of over 800 pieces of clothing in support of CTKF’s mission to provide new and quality used clothing to low-income or in-crisis school age children in Fairfield County —free of charge. Located in the Yerwood Center on 90 Fairfield Avenue in Stamford, CTKF operates a clothing boutique in which families shop twice a year for a week’s worth of clothing, per eligible child. Over 33% of school age children in Fairfield County are eligible to receive free or reduced-price school lunches, which makes them eligible to shop at the CTKF Store. CTKF personal shoppers work with each family in finding and choosing complete wardrobes for each child.

DHS Global Connect is a student-run club that raises community awareness and generates fundraising to benefit local charitable organizations involved in supporting those in need in Fairfield County and beyond. In addition to the CTKF fundraiser, Global Connect has supported Stamford-based Americares and the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County.
