A man was injured when he fell off the platform at the Darien Train Station late Sunday night.
At approximately 12:30 a.m. on Nov. 13, Darien Police officers responded to the area of the Post Road and the exit drive of the Darien Train Station, Northbound side, for the report of an unresponsive male. Officers, along with EMS Post 53, treated the man on scene, ultimately transporting him to Stamford Hospital.
The patient was identified as a 22-year-old man from Monroe. For reasons still under investigation, it appears that the male fell from the train platform structure, landing on the exit drive in the area where the drive meets the Post Road.
At this time, it is believed that the male was alone, and Darien Police said they have no reason to believe this was anything other than an unfortunate accident. The man continues to be treated at Stamford Hospital.
As this is an ongoing investigation, no further information will be released at this time, Darien Police said.
