Police are investigating the theft of some $1,300 worth of items from a motor vehicle while it was parked in the area of Tokeneke Road and Post Road at approximately 2:45 p.m. on Oct. 22.
Officers were sent to that location to investigate a reported motor vehicle burglary. The victim told police she parked her vehicle, a 2018 Chevy Traverse, in the spaces adjacent to the train track on Tokeneke Road to patronize a business.
Approximately 10 minutes later, police said she returned to her vehicle to find the rear passenger’s side window broken and her purse missing from the back seat. Inside the purse were various credit cards, driver’s license, sunglasses, and check book, according to police.
