Police are investigating three overnight car burglaries reported on Garden City Road on Aug. 3. A Garden City Road resident contacted police at about 6 a.m. to report that her car had been rummaged through. She told police she was unsure if the vehicle had been locked, but there were no signs of forced entry. Nothing appeared to be missing, but during a canvass of the area, police discovered another car at a neighboring home had been burglarized.
This car had an open glove box and the contents had been scattered around on the front seats. The owner of the car was notified but nothing was reported stolen. A Crimmins Road resident reported another motor vehicle burglary several hours later, and again the glove box was left open with papers strewn about. The victim told police $20 in cash had been taken from her center console as well.
Police continue to urge residents to lock their cars wherever they park.
