Jake Frasca, a former standout with the Darien Blue Wave baseball team, starred at the plate and on the mound for the Sacred Heart University Pioneers this spring.
A sophomore, Frasca started 49 games for the Pioneers’ infield and was second on the team with a .307 batting average, smacking 55 hits in 179 at-bats. That included 10 doubles, one triple and a home run, along with 25 runs scored and 25 RBIs.
Frasca was an offensive machine this season, as he delivered 13 mulit-hit games, including six three-hit contests. He also reached base in 19 straight games from March 25 through April 24.
He also made 13 appearances on the mound, pitching 15.2 innings with an ERA of 2.87 and a record of 4-1. He struck out 14 and had one save.
Frasca graduated from DHS with the Class of 2015, and was an All-FCIAC First Team and CHSCA All-State selection as a senior.
As a team, Sacred Heart went 17-35 overall and 12-16 in the Northeast Conference (NEC).
