Darien Police volunteer to assemble Depot picnic tables

Darien Police officers recently assisted The Depot Youth Center in assembling new picnic tables for its outdoor area.

Darien Police recently noticed new picnic tables awaiting assembly at The Depot, Darien’s youth center, and offered to help.

Depot program director Janice Marzano told The Darien Times that picnic tables were on The Depot’s wish list for a long time. She said Sgt. T.J. Moore, who serves as the Depot’s Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) advisor, saw the tables.

“He saw them sitting inside, and offered to put them together — the pieces were very heavy,” she said.

The Depot thanked the officers in a social media post:

The Depot sends a huge thank you to both Sgts Mark Cirillo and TJ Moore & Officer Joseph Cusano who set up the picnic tables yesterday at the Depot! This is above and beyond but not surprising as our Darien Police Department takes such good care of us.
