Darien fireworks are Saturday, parking passes on sale until Friday

The fireworks are organized by Darien’s Park and Rec Department. Some of the sponsors include Bill Jensen (Darien Toy Box), Dan Dolcetti (Dolcetti, Inc.), Jack Horner (Darien Chamber of Commerce), Phill Dolcetti (Dolcetti, Inc.), Carter McGuckin (Rand Insurance), Jami Dawson (Darien Parks and Recreation); Geri Genovese (Baywater Properties), Gina Zangrillo (Darien Sport Shop), and Susan Marks (Board of Selectmen).

Darien’s post Fourth of July fireworks are Saturday, July 7. at Darien High School. Parking passes must be purchased at the first selectman’s office at Town Hall until Friday. Rain date: Sunday, July 8.

Schedule of events: 6:30 — gates open; 7 p.m. — Community Band; 8 p.m. — Lackluster Brother (band) and 9 p.m. fireworks.

Parking passes will not be sold on-site at the event. All pedestrian traffic and off-campus parking is free.

All vehicular traffic with pre-purchased parking passes must enter from Noroton Avenue. A handicap permit is required to park in limited handicap parking spaces available. Off-campus parking lots within one mile of DHS campus include Middlesex Middle School and McGuane Field.

Food vendors include Meltmobile, Valencia Luncheria, Boxcar Cantina, Lucky Dog, Blue Wave Taco, LobsterCraft, Mister Softee and Edison’s Famous Ice.
