On Friday, June 29, Darien Summer Nights welcomes Henry Jones and his band, Sugar Bear. Jones, who was formerly the lead singer of “The David Henry Project,” started his own band in 2015. Sugar Bear is a seven-piece band that performs “unique renditions of classic rhythm and blues, classic rock, soul, reggae, country and contemporary songs,” organizers say. Last summer, Sugar Bear performed to rave reviews when they stepped in to play for a band whose lead singer came down with laryngitis. They played to an excited crowd who danced the night away as they rocked Grove Street Plaza, organizers say.
