At Home in Darien celebrates Volunteer Appreciation Day

At Home In Darien celebrated Volunteer Appreciation Day on Thursday, April 25.  As you travelled around town, you may have seen blue balloons tied to your neighbor’s mailboxes.  At Home In Darien Board members tied a balloon to the organization’s volunteers’ mailboxes along with a thank you card, as a way of honoring and recognizing more than 150 volunteers in town.

These volunteers generously donated their time to shop, visit, drive, help with small chores, rake leaves and shovel snow for seniors in the community, according to the organization. “These dedicated volunteers assisted At Home In Darien so our seniors can stay connected to the community and remain in their own homes as they age.”

Those who are interested in these services or know of someone who could benefit from them, and those who are interested in volunteering are asked to call At Home In Darien at 203-655-2227.
