Letter: Darien Land Trust grateful for support of ‘Green and Glam’ night

Darien Land Trustee Nina Miller, Darien Land Trust executive director Shirley Nichols, former Darien Land Trust board president and State Rep. Terrie Wood and Linda Goodyear.

To the Editor:

Darien Land Trust gratefully thanks Nielsen’s Florists for hosting the first “Green and Glam” ladies night in their spectacular greenhouse to benefit the preservation of open space in Darien.

Nielsen’s Florists, Wineport and Ravo vodka provided the refreshments and Michele Blakeslee gave an informative demonstration on how to improve our landscapes to attract pollinators and birds.

The entire Board of the Darien Land Trust joins me in thanking Nielsen’s who also provided food from Michael Joseph Catering, and all the local merchants who contributed to the goody bags that each guest received including Beautycounter and Green and Tonic.

Thank you to everyone who ventured out on a not so spring-like evening to support the Darien Land Trust. Your ongoing support provides funds for our stewardship and education programs and helps us manage over 215 acres of open space in Darien for the enduring benefit of all residents and our local environment.
