He served his country as a member of the United States Navy and was a retired U.S. Postal worker.
He had many interests, from building and flying model planes, to working on engines of all sizes. He was a car buff, enjoyed music from the Doo-wop era especially those “Oldies but Goodies,” and don’t forget Country Music! Tony loved fishing, boating, traveling, and cooking.
He is survived by his wife Polly A.(Schneider) Verrico, sister Barbara M. Verrico Pereira and her husband Joseph S., brother Joseph P. Verrico and his wife Frances (Betsy) Saxe, granddaughter Savanah A. Verrico Cartagena and her husband Efrain, great-grandchildren Eli Efrain and Lia Taylor Cartagena and several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his mother Concentina R. Procaccini Verrico, father Joseph Verrico, brothers Peter John Verrico, Robert Michael Verrico and his sons Anthony Joseph Verrico Jr. and Robert Karl Verrico.
There will be a memorial service Saturday, May 5, at 12 p.m. for family and friends at Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church, 471 Mansfield Avenue Darien, CT with a reception to follow. Edward
