Christ Community Church will hold a Maundy Thursday traditional Seder on Thursday, March 29 from 7 to8:30 p.m.
A Seder is a Jewish ritual service and ceremonial dinner for the first night or first two nights of Passover. Passover begins on Friday evening, March 30 this year and continues through Saturday, April 6. Maundy Thursday is the beginning of Easter weekend for Christians, continuing to Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday.
The Last Supper, believed to be held by Jesus Christ with his followers on the night before he was crucified, is also believed to have been held on a Thursday as well according to catholic.org. Most Christians believe it was during the Last Supper that Jesus established the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist.
The community is invited to experience a Traditional Seder and gain a deeper understanding of the Last Supper with Christ Community Church. The church is located at 988 Post Road in Darien.
