The Easter Bunny is coming to town and Palmer’s Market has everything you need for the celebration.
From the moment you enter the market, the scent of Spring is in the air. Hyacinths, tulips, daffodils, hydrangea and azaleas greet you at the door and, the entire market is in bloom, prepared for the holiday.
“Easter has always been one of my favorite holidays, says Cindy Palmer Dean, “I have wonderful memories of being at my grandparents house; Easter eggs hunts with my cousins, the house filled with flowers and the smell of ham cooking in the oven.”
Speaking of the star of the Easter table, Palmer’s butcher shop sells Nueske’s award-winning spiral ham.
“It’s not something you can get just anywhere,” Cindy said. “Nueske’s is a family-owned and operated smokehouse in Wisconsin and the ham is just the most tender and juicy you’ve ever tasted. We have won over many a ham hater with Nueske’s!”
If Easter brunch is more your style, Palmer’s has delicious deviled eggs and deep dish quiche. The quiche start in the bakery, where the handmade sour cream and black pepper crusts are made and then sent up to the kitchen to be filled with luscious ingredients.
“My favorite, is the zucchini, bacon and gruyere —crispy bits of bacon, caramelized zucchini and lots of gruyere cheese,” Cindy said. “Yum.”
Options abound, thanks to the full Palmer’s Easter catering menu, including 18 gluten-free options.
And let’s not forget the dessert. Culinary Director Megan Palmer Rivera has a hard time picking just one favorite Easter treat.
“There’s just so much to choose from, but one of my absolute favorites is our key lime pie,” Megan said. “We start with fresh Florida key lime juice, add in our secret ingredients and pour it into our handmade graham cracker crusts and bake them to perfection. The result is a silky smooth custard with just the right balance of tart and sweet.”
Now if you’re like the Easter bunny and prefer vegetables to fruit, try Palmer’s carrot cake. It’s four layers of moist cake layered with our rich cream cheese icing.
“It’s so good, your kids will want a second helping of veggies,” Megan said.
Beyond the menu, make the holiday table bloom with custom designs from Palmer’s floral shop.
“Of course, if the Easter Bunny needs to get some shopping done, our Gift Shop has baskets, Easter grass, an incredible selection of hard-to-find chocolates and candy and some fun, unique toys,” Megan said. “I know I am always cognizant of how much candy I’m including in my children’s baskets, so I love to put in some of our stuffed animals or little toys. It makes it a little more special.”
