Letter: #NeverAgain letter signing a success

To the Editor:

On March 14, hundreds of Darien High School students walked-out to honor the 17 students and faculty members who tragically lost their lives on February 14th at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. At the same time, over 175 members of the Darien community joined us in signing their names to letters urging our State representatives and members of Congress to pass common sense gun laws to keep our students and our communities, safe. We are grateful for this tremendous show of support and activism, particularly given the speed with which this event came together!
We want to thank everyone who came to The Depot on Wednesday, March 14 and those who printed letters at home and hand delivered them to us to include with our mailing. Thank you for sharing the details of our event with your friends via social media and encouraging them to join our effort.
A special thank you to Janice Marzano and The Depot Board for lending us space to hold our letter-signing event.
Now more than ever we need to let our voices be heard on issues important to us.
