• Newsflash: First Selectman Jayme Stevenson to run for lieutenant governor
“I am pleased to announce that the Darien Republican Town Committee officially endorsed Jayme Stevenson in her run for Lieutenant Governor at our meeting on March 15. Governor Malloy and our Democrat-led legislature has put the State of Connecticut into a financial crisis,” Hayes said.
Hayes added that Connecticut taxpayers are now faced with potential tolls on our highways, elimination of certain tax credits, increased taxes on real estate sales and corporations, and a 10% fare hike on Metro-North which will be accompanied by reduced service.
“Jayme has a proven track record of success and most recently delivered a budget of -1.05% from the previous year to the Board of Finance. Jayme will help our next governor bring fiscal discipline and common sense back to Hartford, and we are excited to support her campaign,” Hayes said.
