Darien resident pursues burglary suspects on Christmas Eve

A Walmsley Road resident contacted police after seeing two suspicious people running away from his driveway just before 3 a.m. on Dec. 24. The man then attempted to pursue the suspects in his vehicle. He eventually lost sight of them when they fled on foot onto Hollow Tree Ridge Road but reportedly saw them carrying boxes with them.

The suspects were described as being male, one Hispanic and about six feet tall, wearing a tan sweater and dark pants, and the other a black male, wearing dark pants and a dark hooded sweatshirt.

Officers canvassed the area as well as several surrounding neighborhoods but did not locate the suspects.  The complainant is unsure about what may have been taken from his vehicle.  The investigation is ongoing.

A Joseph Street resident also reported that his son’s vehicle had been entered during the early morning hours of Dec. 24 after finding the left rear door of the vehicle open. The glove box and center console had been rummaged through but nothing was reported missing.
