Jessica Ann Koontz, daughter of C. Lennis Koontz, II and Rose Marie Koontz of Darien, was married to Hunt Eastwick Barada, son of John & Sandi Barada, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina (formerly New Canaan) on Saturday, Sept 30th, 2017. Fr. Nicholas Punch, O.P. performed the ceremony at St. John Roman Catholic Church in Darien.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a custom silk gown by Exclusive Bridal of Greenwich, with a sweeping cathedral train and lace veil. She carried a lush bouquet of ivory roses, and blue hydrangea. She carried her late grandmother’s handmade rosary in her bouquet.
Emily Elms, of Trumbull, was maid of honor, and bridesmaids included sisters-in-law Lindsay Bayley Barada of Waterloo, Canada; Shelby Barada, of San Francisco, California; and friends Brittany Wainacht Hasak of Trumbull; Julia Mastantuono Krauland of Norwalk; and Stephanie Masiello Schuette of Chicago, Illinois. They wore royal blue Alfred Sung dresses and carried bouquets of yellow roses, daisies, and blue hydrangea.
The groom’s brother, Chase Barada of Pound Ridge, New York, was best man. Groomsmen included Jake Bayley, brother-in-law of the groom, of Waterloo, Canada; and friends Nicholas Sclafani, of Stamford; Zachary Gutierrez of New York, New York; and Christopher Schipper, of Jersey City, New Jersey.
The bride graduated from Darien High School in 2003, and cum laude from Loyola University in Maryland in 2007. She also earned her Masters of Arts from the Elliott School of International Affairs at The George Washington University in 2013. She is a National Sales Manager at Daymon in Stamford.
The groom is a 2006 graduate of the Hyde School in Woodstock, and a 2011 graduate from Keene State, New Hampshire. The groom is an MBA candidate at the University of Connecticut School of Business. He is the Promotional Effectiveness Manager at Philips in Stamford.
After a reception at the Stamford Yacht Club, Stamford, the couple honeymooned in Italy. They will live in Stamford.
