Middlebury senior captain Annie Leonard and sophomore Marissa Baker finished big as big can be at the national tournament.

The Panthers won a second NCAA D3 title in three years beating Messiah 4-0 at the University of Louisville on Nov. 19.

Leonard (GA 2014) completes her career topping the Panthers with 17 goals, 42 points this season, and as one of Middlebury’s greatest scorers.

The sophomore Baker (DHS 2016) seems to be on a common course with the outgoing Leonard, expected to make a continued impact with the Panthers in all elements of the game.

She is its fifth leading scorer with nine goals, 22 points.

The Panthers were ranked No. 2 and unseated the defending champs, breaking Messiah’s 44-game winning streak.

Middlebury ties the school record with 20 wins.
