Middlesex wins 50th Annual Darien swim

FASTEST IN 50 YEARS — Woodway’s Jack Morningstar won the 50-meter butterfly and 100 IM in the town race’s best times ever.

Middlesex turned in a dominating performance at the 50th Annual Darien 12-and-under Swim Championships, hosted by Woodway Country Club on July 28.

Middlesex scored 488 points, with runner-up Woodway posting 252, Tokeneke Beach Club 175 points, Country Club of Darien 142 and Wee Burn 20.

Woodway’s 11-year-old Jack Morningstar set two Darien Championship records in both the 50-meter butterfly and 100 individual medley, besting the previous butterfly record set in 2009 by over two seconds.

Morningstar also won the 50 meter backstroke.

Other three event winners included Middlesex swimmers Morgan Hite, Ellie Schaller, Evan Anavy and Luke Sibilio, Tokeneke Beach Club swimmers Bridget Moore and Maddy Sweet and Woodway Country Club swimmers James Law and Charlie Sedlock.
