Five thousand dollars' worth of frames stolen from Specs of Darien

An employee of Specs Darien, 1 Tokeneke Road, contacted police to report than 10 pairs of eyeglass frames had been stolen on May 26.
The employee told police she had been helping another customer when a man came into the store. He began looking in the stock drawers near where the employee was before telling her he was waiting for his wife and needed to run outside.
After finishing with the first customer the employee returned to find that 10 frames were missing from the display. She described the suspect as a heavyset white man in his late 40s, standing about 5 feet and 5 inches tall. The frames were worth approximately $5,000 based on the employee’s estimate.
