E. Jacqueline Fiske, 86, departed her life on June 21, 2016 at her home in Charlottesville, Virginia. She was born on October 12, 1929 in Massachusetts to the late John and Elsie Strachan.
To cherish her memory, she leaves behind a family who loved her dearly, including her husband of 65 years, Guy W. Fiske; her daughter Jacqui Fiske Lazo and her husband, John S. Lazo of Charlottesville, Virginia; her daughter Melinda Winslow and her husband, Herbert Winslow of Moyock, North Carolina; her daughter Melissa Oglesby of Moyock, North Carolina; two granddaughters and three grandsons. She also leaves behind two sisters, Barbara Darviche of Newton, Massachusetts, and Dorothy Winslow of Lexington, Massachusetts.
A world traveler with a love of history and antiques, Jackie had a great sense of style and a vivid imagination. She loved interior decorating and gardening, and taught her children about the beauty of the natural world. She and her husband established two gardens at the Jupiter Medical Center and a mind/body institute in Florida during the time that they lived there. A voracious reader, she enjoyed sharing books and articles with friends and family. Always a fighter, her sharp wit and great sense of humor were with her to the very end. She will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held at Olivet Presbyterian Church in Charlottesville, Virginia, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2016.
