Lt. Colonel Clifford Alton Stevens, father of Darienite Alan Stevens, died on April 30 at the age of 94.
He was born on March 29, 1919 in Lincoln, Maine to Harry and Dorothy Ayer Stevens.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Mary Lynn Victory Stevens, and three brothers, David, Joe and Galen Stevens.
In addition to his son Alan, he is survived by his daughters, Lynn Stevens and Nancy (Steve) Verses; grandsons, Matthew Verses and Jeff (Laura) Verses; great-granddaughter, Julia Elizabeth Verses; and his second wife of 21 years, Nelle Preston Stevens.
Mr. Stevens graduated from the University of Maine, He was a Army Air Corps B29 pilot World War II in the Pacific Theater. A memorial service will be held at the Army Residence Community Center Chapel Monday, May 13 at 10 a.m. A private burial will be at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
