Nick Lombardo of Norwalk, who was a Darien resident of more than 50 years, died Tuesday, Jan. 24, at Norwalk Hospital. He was 91.
Born Oct. 21, 1920, in Stamford, he was the son of the late Dominick Lombardi and Anna Ferullo Lombardi.
Mr. Lombardo was a former owner of Pierre’s Restaurant and Nick’s Place in New Canaan. He also worked for the New Canaan Board of Education for 15 years as a maintenance mechanic. After working for the Board of Ed, he was a guard at Shore & Country Club in Norwalk and a member of the New Canaan Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his two sons, Neal M. Lombardo of Mebane, N.C., and John Lombardo of Norwalk; two sisters, Rose Warren of Darien and Mary Plant of Stamford; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mildred M. Lombardo.
The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, on Friday, Jan. 27, from 5-8. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John R.C. Church, 1986 Post Road, on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 11:30. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery.
