Darien downs Norwalk for seventh FCIAC win

Darien beat Norwalk 19-2 at home on Tuesday.

The Wave improves to 7-1 FCIAC and 7-4 overall, while the Bears slip to 4-5, 4-6.

It was 8-1 Darien after one period.

Peter Lindley scored four goals and had two assists to lead Darien.

Connor Waldron had a hat trick, Sean Foley was 2-1, Kyle Cornell and Kevin Seiler each 2-0, John Reed 1-2, Goose Bolton, Hudson Hammill, Colin Minicus, Harry Gillespie, Aidan Brannigan scored one goal each, and James Lyons, Ian Burgoyne and Jack Kniffin had an assist apiece.

Phil Huffard needed to make no saves, Christian Miller and Jamie Swiggett stopped one shot each in the Wave goal.

Norwalk Scoring: Danny Jakab 2-0, Tyler Brown 0-1.

Nick Lafranco  made six saves in the Bears’ cage.

The Wave goes to St. Anthony’s in Bethpage, N.Y. for a non-league game on Saturday.

After that, it’s Ridgefield and Greenwich back-to-back, with four games to go in the regular season.
