Good Gozdz: Freshman ties Hamilton record with 40 hits


Olivia Gozdz was a standout, instrumental in the Wave’s back-to-back FCIAC titles of 20011 and ’12.



Catcher Olivia Gozdz has a slugging percentage of .586.

Hamilton softball catcher Olivia Gozdz (DHS 2012) is not missing a beat at the plate in her rookie year.

As Hamilton swept SUNY Potsdam in a non-conference doubleheader on April 18, Gozdz tied the school record with her 40th hit this season so far.

And with 12 games postponed due to poor weather, the freshman standout Gozdz has a long way still to go.

Gozdz leads the 9-18 overall Continentals, hitting .460, playing in every game.

In 87 at bats, she has hit nine doubles, a triple and batted in nine runs, scoring 16.

Gozdz’s slugging percentage is .586.
