Casey Woodring with the New England Prep School AA trophy, his second in three years.

Casey Woodring and his Cushing Academy boys’ hoops team came from behind to beat St. Andrews at the buzzer and become 2013 New England Prep School AA champs.

Cushing won 61-60 at Enditcott College in Beverly, Mass. on Sunday.

Jalen Adams hit a desperation 3-point shot as the horn sounded to clinch it.

Cushing had beaten Kimball Union Academy 62-52 in its semifinals game on Friday.

Woodring, from Darien, but who came up honing his game with Bridgeport AAU, played in an unprecedented third Championship NEPSAC Final Game, in three years.

The past three seasons Woodring’s teams have gone 66-12, beginning at Choate, which he helped win its first Class A title in 2011.

Woodring lost in the title game to Salisbury as Choate was runner-up last year.

This year Woodring won his second championship in three years to close out his high school career.

Cushing finished its season 24-5 against some of the top Prep School competition in the US as coach Barry Connors won his first championship with the school.
