Wave’s 126.2 best tumbling numbers of year

Kajsa Lundeen scored her personal best on vault with 8.35 and on floor with an 8.6, in Darien’s sweep at home on Saturday.

“Performing new and more difficult skills,” said Wave gymnastics coach Ellie Southworth, “her all-around score of 32.00 is also her personal best for high school competition.”

Darien scored its highest team number of the season, 126.2, to beat Joel Barlow with 97.95 and Weston with 56.50.

The Trojans are soldiering on without a full complement of gymnasts this season.

Marya von Schmidt scored her personal best on floor with an 8.1.

Sara Petti continues to shine on bars, scoring 7.5, behind Gunn with an 8.0,” Southworth said.

Sam Gunn continued to shine as star on top of the gymnastics tree at DHS, with an 8.45 vault, 8.0 on bars, 7.8 on beam and 8.4 on floor.

On floor, Darien had 8.6 from Lundeen, 8.1 from von Schmidt, 7.9 from Caroline Congdon, 7.4 from Petti.

Beam: von Schmidt 5.4, Petti 5.8, Julia Murray 7.65, Lundeen 7.75, Congdon 7.6.

Bars: Murray 6.5, Lundeen 7.3, Congdon 6.6, von Schmidt 7.5, Petti 7.5.

Vault: Petti 7.3, Congdon 7.4, von Schmidt 7.9, Lundeen 8.35.
