CSI: Darien

The Darien Police Citizen’s Academy (CSI: Darien) is a free, six-week program open to all middle school Darien residents that meets once a week during the evenings.”CSI: Darien” is run by The Depot, in conjunction with the Youth Division Detectives Sam Boccuzzi and Mark Cappelli, to give kids a better understanding as to many of the Police Officers’ duties, responsibilities and training requirements. Officers from different departments present all of the classes, allowing participating students an opportunity to become acquainted with them in a friendly, interactive environment. Each week, a different area of the police department will be presented, such as Traffic Enforcement and Accident Investigation, Criminal Justice, Bully and Internet Safety, Forensics and Crime Scene Investigation, Simmunitions Exercise and S.W.A.T., and Zulu the Police Dog.

This program runs Wednesday, Jan. 9 – Wednesday, Feb. 13, on Wednesday’s from 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Depot. Some classes may be held at the Police Department.
