Darien Police advise increased patrols and presence at Darien schools

Darien Police issued the following Friday afternoon in response to Newtown shooting:

In light of today’s tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown,  the Darien Police have increased patrols and presence at all schools in Darien.  We have been in close contact with the Darien Superintendent of Schools, Stephen Falcone, who has ensured us that security has been reinforced at all school buildings, and that a safe environment is being maintained.

The School Resource Officer at Darien High School is aware of the incident and is working closely with school officials.

We ask citizens to report all suspicious activity by dialing 911.
