Taft’s Kratky signs NLI with Virginia


Jeff Kratky is a senior at Taft.


Jeff Kratky, a senior at the Taft School in Watertown, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the University of Virginia Cavaliers mens’ lacrosse team next year.

Kratky, from Darien, has been a varsity lacrosse starter since freshman year as a face-off midfielder.

In 2012 Inside Lacrosse ranked Kratky the 44th overall player nationally in the class of 2013.

He was named All Western New England Prep School Athletic Association (WNEPSAA), Division One Team, his sophomore and junior seasons.

Kratky was on the Under Armour New England Boys Lacrosse team in 2011 and 2012, winning the national championship in 2011 and runner up in the 2012 championship game.

In 2011 ESPNHS ranked him the No. 31 player in the national class of 2013.

University of Virginia has won four NCAA titles in the last 20 years and reached the final four thirteen times; most recently the NCAA title in 2011.

Kratky has earned nine varsity letters to date at Taft in football, wrestling, and lacrosse.
