Y Gymnasts flip for first ever Fright Fest

Gymnasts from the YMCA House Gymnastics Team captured second place team trophies for both Level 4 and 5 at the first annual Wilton YMCA Flippin' Fright Fest gymnastics meet.

Despite competing in a gym draped with spooky decorations, the girls stayed focused on their routines with great success.

In the 10-11 year-old age group, Level 4 gymnast Lily Fairleigh took second place with a 9.0 on her bar routine while Hannah Knight placed second on vault and third on bars, beam and all-around.

Emma Koener completed solid routines to help the team and qualify for the YMCA Southern Leagues and state meets.

In the Level 4 12-plus age group, Caroline Kiesling placed second on bars and third on floor, vault, beam and all-around.

Sarah Brindisi scored a 9.2 to place second on vault, placed second on floor and beam and won the bars and all-around titles.

The Level 5 gymnasts all competed in the 12-plus age group. Morgan Taylor came in second on vault and third on floor, while Caitlyn Spellman was second on vault and third on beam, bars and all-around.

Twin sister Jennie Spellman placed second on beam, floor and bars and won the vault and all-around titles.

Coach Erin Hunter was awarded the prize for the best coach costume.
