Obituary: Gregory Ernest Mazza, 57, Darien High Class of ’73, ran own business

Gregory Ernest Mazza of Salem, N.H., formerly of Darien and Stamford, who ran a motorcycle transport service, died Tuesday, Nov. 29. Mr. Mazza, 57, was the husband of Lois Mazza.

Born March 3, 1954, in Stamford, he was a 1973 graduate of Darien High School.

Mr. Mazza made his early career in retailing, and then moved to his life long passion motorcycles where he developed and ran an innovative nationwide cycle transport service. In his later years he was a real estate manager and agent.

An avid motorcyclist, boater, and snowboarder, he taught generations of his family to enjoy skiing and snowboarding. He spent his final days doing justice to Dylan Thomas's 'Rage,' and was loved and admired by many," his family said.

Besides his wife, Mr. Mazza is survived by his son, William; mother, Jacqueline Howley Mazza; siblings, Raymond Mazza Jr., Jacqueline Mossa, Patricia Sturges; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Raymond H Mazza Sr.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Gregory W. Mazza Trust: c/o Webster Bank 301 Main St. Danbury, Ct 06810. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Thomas More R.C. Church, 374 Middlesex Road, on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 11.
