Obituary: Virginia Fitzgerald Webb, 88, longtime Darien resident

Virginia Fitzgerald Webb, a longtime Darien resident, died Friday, Nov. 25, surrounded by family and friends at Masonicare at Newtown. Mrs. Webb, 88, was the wife of Roger Lambert Webb of 48 Dubois St.

Born Feb. 28, 1923, in Torrington, she was the daughter of John and Rose Fitzgerald. Mrs. Webb was a graduate of Torrington High School, Class of 1941.

She lived and raised her family in Darien until 2010. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be deeply missed, her family said. They would like to thank the staff at Masonicare for their outstanding care and compassion.

In addition to husband of 66 years, Mrs. Webb is survived by a daughter, Carol Webb Delvecchio of Newtown; a son, Roger B. Webb of Newtown; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Margie Fitzgerald, John Fitzgerald and Raymond Fitzgerald.

A memorial Mass celebrating her life took place on Monday Nov. 28, at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church in Newtown. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

The Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, handled the arrangements.
