Darien businesses Ring's End and Total Care will be among the many regional businesses attending the Design Build Showcase on Wednesday, May 16 at the newly built Smith's Meadow Estate in New Canaan.

Bonnier's Technology Group names Darien man VP

Darien resident Steven Grune was recently promoted to vice president, group publisher of Bonnier's Technology Group. Technology Group titles include Popular Science along with Popular Photography, American Photo and Sound + Vision.

"With our tech brands at the forefront of the digital boom in publishing, Steve is the natural pick to lead this group," said Terry Snow, the company's CEO. "He has played a prominent and influential role in the highly significant advertising gains for these titles in the digital space."

During Grune's tenure, first as group director of sales and marketing and most recently as group publisher, digital revenue has soared 125% over the past two years. Popular Science for the iPad is one of the world's top-grossing magazine apps on the iTunes store, according to the company.

Darien Rowayton Bank donates to library

Darien Rowayton Bank, a corporate sponsor of the Darien Library, presented a check to Kerrie Kelley, Darien Library fundraising co-chairman, to support the library's "Light Up the Library" fundraiser at The Imagination Gala on Saturday, May 12, at 6:30 p.m.

At Darien Library, one of the top-ranked libraries in the nation, all books, movies, computers, magazines, books on CD, information resources, and programs are paid for through private donations.
