Teens invited to publish their own books at library

The library will host a program for budding teen authors, during which young writers will learn every step of the self-publishing process.

Pixels to Print: Self-Publishing for Print and Digital Books is Friday, Feb. 24, from 10-5, in the tech center, on the library's lower level.

During the day-long workshop, participating teens, between 12 and 18, will learn how to set up, design and publish their own books using a variety of programs in the Adobe Creative Suite. Those who are enrolled in the program will also have the opportunity to see a finished book printed before their eyes without ever leaving the library thanks to the Espresso Book Machine.

Registration is required. Contatc teen librarian Erica Gauquier at egauquier@darienlibrary.org or 203-669-5225. Teens should bring a flash drive with photos or text to create the book; snacks will be provided.
