Local author visits senior center

Local author and fellow senior, Julian Padowicz, 79, will be at the Darien senior center on Tuesday, Feb. 21, to visit and discuss how he accomplished his goal of being an author late in life.

Padowicz holds a degree in English Literature from Colgate University, and is a former U.S. Air Force navigator, documentary filmmaker, and producer of audio tapes. He won a Golden Eagle Award for his educational film, “The People Shop,” from the Committee on International Non-Theatrical Events.

Padowicz’s two novels, “Writer’s Block” and “The Best Sunset in Venice,” have main characters in their 60s and 70s. Both novels are full of romance, excitement, frustrations, and adventure.

The Darien senior center programs, at 30 Edgerton St., are open for all Darien residents 55 years and older. A weekly schedule of events also appears in the Times Around Town calendar in this issue. For more information, call 203-656-7455.
