For fitness' sake: Library wants to introduce Wii video games to adults

Darien-LibraryThe library is setting out to prove that fitness can be fun — and video games can have a place in an active lifestyle. The library will turn its conference room into a sports arena with Nintendo Wii on Wednesday, Jan. 18, and Wednesday, Feb. 1, from 10-noon.

The library staff will be on hand to show patrons how to use the Wii set ups, and then adults will have a chance to join a round of golf, go bowling, have an archery contest or even throw a Frisbee, using the video game controllers.

The event is part of the Library's "Winter Wellness" health and wellness series, which will provide patrons with a variety of lectures, expert panels, workshops, film screening and fitness exercises designed to help get healthy, organized and active. For the complete list of programs and activities that will take place throughout the series, visit darienlibrary.org/2011/11/22/health-wellness-series-winter-2012.
