Are you prepared for your next hospital stay? Library offers tips

Darien-LibraryThe library is hosting an expert session to help library patrons learn about how best to prepare and navigate a planned or surprise trip to the hospital. The session is Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 10.

The session, presented by Sue Worland, a registered nurse and hospital liaison and intake coordinator with Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County will provide valuable tips about the questions to ask prior to a hospital visit in order to be prepared.

In addition to preparatory advice, Worland will go over how to reduce the risk of infection and medical areas and how to get a good night's rest while in the hospital as well as important steps for planning discharge and follow-up care.

The event is part of the Library's Winter Wellness health and wellness series, which will provide patrons with a variety of lectures, expert panels, workshops, film screening and fitness exercises designed to help get healthy, organized and active. For the complete list of programs and activities that will take place throughout the series, visit darienlibrary.org/2011/11/22/health-wellness-series-winter-2012.
