Taking control: Financial workshop in Darien focuses on women

Financial security depends on more than a woman's marital or job status. Many women believe that their financial well-being is linked solely to their marital status or their ability to earn an income. But having true financial independence has much more to do with taking control of the finances you have. It's about setting financial goals and learning to use financial strategies that will help you meet your goals.

Karen Goersch of Price Financial Group LLC will be presenting strategies to get you started at a special workshop for women at the Darien Community Association. Every woman — single, married, working, or widowed — who wants to be financially secure is invited to attend.

Goersch is a private wealth manager with Price Financial Group of Wilton. A former CPA, Goersch is a registered representative with LPL Financial and a licensed Investment Advisor with Private Advisor Group, LLC and brings a wealth of both corporate and personal financial experience from years working at Coopers & Lybrand and Nynex (Verizon). Her philosophy is founded on helping clients understand their needs, building a personal financial plan and determining what investments are suitable for each client — from asset allocation strategy to income planning to individual investment selection.

This interactive workshop will be presented on four consecutive Wednesdays, starting Jan. 11, from noon to 2. The workshop fee for DCA members is $65, for nonmembers $85, which includes lunch and a comprehensive workbook with nearly 150 pages of sound ideas and strategies, it's a valuable resource that you can take home and put to use immediately.

Call the DCA at 203-655-9050 to reserve your seat and a copy of our Taking Control financial management workbook.
