Library hosts ‘secrets to active aging’ workshop Monday

Have you ever wondered about the best ways to stay active as you age?

Julienne Camhi, a certified personal trainer and health fitness specialist at Visiting Nurses & Hospice of Fairfield County, will share secrets to active aging during an interactive workshop, Secrets to Active Aging, at the library on Monday morning, Jan. 9, at 10.

During this workshop, which is geared toward adults over the age of 50, Camhi will discuss why physical activity is a key component for healthy aging, and how to best incorporate activity into your daily life, no matter what your fitness level. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes and shoes to this program if they wish to practice some simple exercises that Camhi will demonstrate.

Secrets to Active Aging is part of the Library's "Winter Wellness" health and wellness series, which will provide patrons with a variety of lectures, expert panels, workshops, film screening and fitness exercises designed to help get healthy, organized and active. For the complete list of programs and activities that will take place throughout the series, visit DarienLibrary.org/2011/11/22/health-wellness-series-winter-2012.
