Darien Thrift Shop offers sales and giving for Christmas

December is Giving Month at the DCA Thrift Shop, 996 Post Road. In addition to "recycling" some donated merchandise The DCA Thrift Shop also gives to many outside organizations.

The Thrift Shop sends hundreds of stuffed toys to children in Afghanistan as well as donates toys to the Noroton Heights Firemen, who in turn send them to the U.S. Marine Corps. Bedding that cannot be sold is donated to Paws" an animal support organization. Unused baby clothing is sent to Malta house, a home for unwed mothers. Donations of unsold sporting equipment are sent to the Darien High School Ski and Skate Sale, benefiting the girls hockey team.

The DCA Thrift Shop holds its annual Christmas sale this week. Shop hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 10-4. Donations are accepted during shop hours. All donations are tax deductible.
