Noroton Fire Dept. collecting again for Toys for Tots

The Noroton Fire Department will be participating in the collection of toys for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. The Toys for Tots program provides donated toys to less fortunate children locally for the Christmas season.

Last year the program distributed 16.7 million toys nationwide. This will mark the Noroton department's third year participating in Toys for Tots. With your help and generosity the fire department hopes to collect over 1,000 toys, more than double the 500 toys collected last year.

The unwrapped donated gifts may be left in the drop box in the parking lot at the rear of the Noroton Firehouse, 1873 Post Road, across from St. Luke's Church.

Local neighborhood collections to support the Toys for Tots program can arrange to have the gifts picked up by a Noroton firefighter in a fire truck between through Dec. 18, from 10-3. Arrangements can be made by e-mailing Chief Alan Hyatt at hyatt1996@yahoo.com or by calling 203-656-2122. All donated toys will be distributed locally in Darien, Stamford, Norwalk.
