Visit Holmes for the Holidays Saturday

Holmes School, 18 Hoyt St., will be hosting its bi-annual Holmes for the Holidays Fair on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 10-4. The school will be transformed into a winter wonderland, and the community is invited to come out and enjoy a day of games, arts and crafts, holiday boutiques and great food.

There will be a vast assortment of exciting auction items up for bid at the fair. The auction includes items and baskets from local shops such as Spree, Good Goods, Good Food, Good Things, and Erica K. Also included are many packages offering pampering from local spas and salons including Lanphier Day Spa, Sunny Nails, Williams and Warren and the Red Door.

Additionally, they have several gift certificates to delicious restaurants such as Café Manolo, Scena, Sails, 1020 Post, and many others. There are also some specific auction items up for bid including tickets to go see the David Letterman Show and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, a BMW Cruise Bike, many American Girl gifts, tickets to Disney World and golf outings at local country clubs.

There will be a wide array of fun games and crafts for all ages, including making "Insta Snow Blizzard Mini Mountains" and an Angry Birds snow globe ornament. Games will include a slingshot Angry Birds game, to win Angry Birds prizes.

You will have the opportunity to get some early holiday shopping done, as they will have a wide variety of boutique vendors set up throughout the school. Chunky Pam's Sweet Shoppe of Darien will be selling treats; a former DHS grad has started "In A Jar Foods", selling organic dry ingredients to make delicious baked goods. Some other local companies include Darien Toy Box, Soundview Millworks, Charlie and Grace will be selling baby goods, Jane Adams Jewelry and Holmes School mom Ariane Triay from Any Random Jane. Also, they will have an artist making silhouettes of children in the library.

The Reindeer Café will be serving up delicious Fairway Market sandwiches and salads, as well as pizza, hot dogs, hot cocoa and other drinks. There will be something delicious for everyone,

There will also be an opportunity for children to visit with Santa Claus at the holiday fair.
