Public Housing Tenant Commissioner Law informational meeting Monday night

A public informational meeting, sponsored by Senator Bob Duff, the Darien Housing Authority, Allen O’Neill Association, Connecticut Housing Coalition and Public Housing Resident Network (PHRN), will review a new law, Tenant Commissioner Election Law - Public Act 11-203, on Monday, Nov. 28, 2011 at 6 p.m.

All are encouraged to attend.

Highlights of the new law which will be discussed include:

- Advance notice to residents about a Tenant Commissioner term expiration or vacancyrequired;

- Public housing residents allowed to petition for an election;

- Alternative methods of filling a Tenant Commissioner vacancy if residents do not petition for an election.

The meeting will be held Monday, Nov. 28, 2011 at 6 at the Darien VFW Post #6933, 205 Noroton Avenue, Darien.
