‘Food 52’ authors talk home cooking at Darien Library

Former New York Times food columnist Amanda Hesser and her Food52.com co-founder, Merrill Stubbs, will speak about their new cookbook, "Food 52," during a special event at the library on Monday, Nov. 28, at 7.

Hesser and Merrill's created their Web site, food52.com, to discover and celebrate the best home cooks in the country. Over the course of 52 weeks, they ran recipe competitions on the Web site. Now, they compiled the 140 winning recipes into a cookbook.

The authors will be presenting their book to spread the idea that great home cooking doesn't have to be complicated or precise to be memorable. Four audience member winners will take home a complimentary copy of their cookbook.

A reception and book signing will follow. Books will be available for purchase. This event was made possible by Barrett Bookstore.
