On Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012 at 7 p.m., the Spanish department at Darien High School and the Darien Public Library will co-sponsor a “meet and greet” with television news correspondent (Univisión and Telemundo), film director and producer and writer, Pedro Ultreras following the screening of his documentary, “La Bestia”, to commemorate Hispanic Heritage Month, as well as participate in this year’s “One Book One Community” theme of immigration.
The documentary deals with the treacherous travel Central American migrants endure on top of the cars of the freight trains that traverse the length of Mexico on their journey towards their hopeful fulfillment of the American Dream.
The event, which is open to the public as well as any members of the school community, will be held in the screening room at the Darien Library.
