‘The guys did what they had to do’

darien-feet1The No. 4-in-the-state ranked Blue Wave captured four shutout victories Wednesday with 15-50 wins over Ludlowe, Bassick, Trinity Catholic and Harding.

Darien boys cross country improved to 7-0 with the sweep.

“The guys did what they had to do to take care of business in the meet,” Darien coach Tyson Kaczmarek said. “I’m excited for the rest of the season.”

The meet was highlighted by Darien runners taking the first eight places in the race over the 2.98 mile course.

Leading the way was Brian Davey in 16:55.

He was followed by Arthur Cassidy (17:13), Ben Olsen (17:14), Jack Sparkman (17:14), Peter Kreuch (17:15), Marshall Huffman (17:15), Colten Appleby (17:16) and Sean Lee (17:29).
