Perticone scores winner on penalty stroke

Hollis Perticone scored 40 seconds into the second half to break open a tight game in Darien’s 1-0 victory at Mamaroneck on Saturday.

“It was a very exciting game,” said Darien field hockey coach Mo Minicus. “A good win.”

The Wave climbs to 4-1 overall, 3-1 FCIAC.

“It was on a beautiful penalty stroke set up by — the team,” Minicus said.

Perticone had a hat trick in Darien’s 6-0 league win at Ludlowe on Thursday.

She added an assist.

Kat Huber scored and had a helper, Erica Osherow scored, Claire Culliton had a goal and an assist, Sloane Bessey an assist and Lexi Perticone an assist.
