GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Darien beat back a frantic challenge from visiting Fairfield Ludlowe to take the match 3-1 on Friday.

Ludlowe loses for the first time this season while Darien improves to 4-0.

Wave girls volleyball dropped the first game 25-21, battling all the rest of the way to blank the Falcons 3-0 by scores of 25-17, 25-15, 25-18.

Kelly Kosnik cracked 17 kills to the deck, while Riley Sousa added 11 as the captains took the lead.

Brittany Osborn had five kills, Taylor Cockerill four, Lauren Pryor four.

Service points, Osborn scored 21, Sousa 12, Callan Clasby 10, Kathleen Burke six, Kosnik six, Pryor three.

Pryor and Cockerill made three blocks each, Osborn, Burke, two apiece.

Burke made 23 assists, Ceila Matzolf 13.

Sousa had 18 digs, Clasby 12, Kosnik 11, Pryor nine, Burke seven, Osborn six.
