BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
The Darien boys’ cross country team captured first place in the small school division of the Wilton Invitational Saturday with 27 points.

Leading the way for Darien over the 3.1 mile course was sophomore Alex Ostberg with a time of 16:09, good enough for second place.
“Alex ran very well,” Darien coach Tyson Kaczmarek said. “He executed a very effective race strategy.”
Teammates Marshall Huffman, Colten Appleby and Peter Kreuch finished eighth, ninth and 10th respectively with times of 16:57, 16:57 and 17:13.
Jack Sparkman was 12th in 17:24 while Ben Olsen placed 17th (17:34) and Arthur Cassidy was top 20 in (17:52).
“This was a solid team win,” said Kaczmarek. “We are a little ahead of where I thought we would be at this point in the season.”
JV Third
The Blue Wave took third in the junior varsity race with 64 points behind the third place finish of Tim Grozier in 18:34 for 3.1 miles.
Brendan Triano was sixth (18:57) and Andrew Xiong was 10th (19:26).
Freshman first
The freshman team took first amongst all other freshmen teams.
They were led by Jack Consolini (fourth, 8:15) and Jack Murray (fifth, 8:24) for 1.5 miles.
The team scored 85 points.
